What is Relay For Life?

Relay For Life is a fun-filled community festival held on behalf of Cancer Council NSW by the local community. Featuring live music, food, fun activities for all the family and inspiring ceremonies, it is fantastic events that brings everyone together to celebrate those who have survived, remember those who have passed away and fight back together for a cancer-free future.

It is an 18hr event for all ages, where teams take turns in walking or running around a local oval to raise awareness and funds for the fight against cancer. The idea behind this is that cancer never sleeps and for a day out of ours lives, nor will we. Participants can choose to challenge themselves and aim to walk the 18hrs, rotate walkers throughout the event or come for only part of the event and enjoy the atmosphere, it's up to them!

The event promotes the community to fight back against the disease whilst celebrating those who have survived and honouring those who we have lost. It is also an opportunity to educate the community about ways to reduce their risk of developing cancer and adopting a healthy lifestyle.

Nearly 40,000 people participate in Relay for Life in New South Wales every year and camp overnight under the stars for the cause and a great weekend out!
