The Book of Hope

Some Relay participants are cancer survivors, others have lost a loved one to cancer, most have in some way been touched by this merciless disease and others still simply Relay to lend support and enjoy themselves.

Each and every one of us has a compelling and touching story to tell.

The Book of Hope is a new initiative from the Sutherland Shire Relay For Life Committee. All participants - whether individuals, families or teams - have the opportunity to tell their story; Who they are Relaying for? or Why they are Relaying?

Book of Hope contributions (pages) are open to everyone. Contributors will receive a 12" x 12" plastic sleeve containing 2 sheets of cardstock - one black, one white. Cardstock can be used as a background to write one's story, stick photos and decorate to taste. This page will then be placed in the plastic sleeve and will forever remain in The Book of Hope.

Every year, new entries will be appended to the book and all volumes will live at the Cancer Council offices in Woolloomooloo where they can be viewed. All volumes will return to the Sutherland Shire Relay every year to be displayed at Team Briefing nights and of course at the Relay itself.

A page in the Book of Hope costs $10. Any proceeds above costs go to the Sutherland Shire Relay For Life fundraising total.
