Cheryl, is still fighting her long and difficult battle with triple negative breast cancer which was first diagnosed in January of 2009 and has since returned 4 times.

Over the last 3 years Cheryl has undergone surgery twice, 6 different courses of chemotherapy drugs and 46 radiotherapy treatments.

She has recently been advised that despite all efforts the cancer has now spread to her liver and lung. The nature of the cancer means we have to act fast, the cancer is very aggressive and fast growing.

On Tuesday 20th of December 2011 Cheryl received a different form of chemotherapy and we are all hoping that this is the drug her cancer doesn't like and gives us more time.

Cheryl is the loving wife of Ken and mother to three daughters, Natalie, Danielle and Joanne. She is also the proud Nannie to Luca, Ava, Neve, Eden, Hugo, Lawson and Lyle with another grandchild due in May 2012.

Cheryl loves to travel and plans to take all 15 of us on a trip to Fiji in February in between treatments...

Lyn lost her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on the 23rd of November 2011.

She was only just diagnosed in January 2011 and underwent surgery as well as many rounds of chemotherapy before passing away peacefully surrounded by love.

Lyn was the love of Larry's life and mother to Kristy, Lisa and Laurie. She was a very proud grandma to her 6 beautiful grandchildren, Neve, Lilia, Oliver, Lawson, Sofia & baby Abby born just two days before she passed.

Lyn remained positive throughout her illness and stayed strong right to the end for the sake of her family. In August she travelled with Lisa and Laurie to visit Kristy and her family in the UK, they had a great trip with memories never to be forgotten. We are all very proud of her and know she is now at peace.

We miss her very much and certainly feel cheated to have lost so many years of her life that would have been.

Every five minutes, another Australian is diagnosed with cancer. While survival rates are improving every day, cancer remains a leading cause of death. To improve this statistic we ask you to sponsor or join our team.

Our team is passionate about tackling health issues and being proactive in the fight against cancer.

Everyone's reason to Relay is as unique as their own personal story. At Relay, you can find healing, comfort, and support from others who have faced cancer or who have lost a loved one to the disease. You have a chance to meet people in the community who are equally as passionate about finding an end to cancer in our lifetime. You can thank all the people who have done so much to support you through your personal cancer experience. And you can gather together with friends, family, and colleagues to laugh, cry, and create lasting memories.

No matter why you take part in Relay, however, one thing is clear: with every step you take, you are helping the Cancer Council save lives. So who will you Relay for?
