The Shelley Wood Award recognizes the qualities that a beautiful young woman displayed that inspired every person whos life she touched... Inspiration, HOPE, Strength and Courage. Shelly lost her battle with cancer only 1 month after participating in the 2005 Relay For Life, she was 31 years old. Her memory lives on through this award.

Each year the award is given to a Relay participant that has been nominated by someone who has displayed the same atributes. The award recognizes the work and achievements that an individual contributes both in their work and personal life and their passionate commitment to finding a cure for cancer through Relay For Life.
